Ryan Jennings
I'm an alumni of the Sage Men’s Volleyball team, where I finished second in the history of the program in assists, with a total 2,715 while I played there. I also finished my career second in the history of the program with 135 aces. I have been playing since my freshman year of high school, around 10 years now, and what I love about this sport is the incredible people that it has brought into my life.
I have played for Sage College in Albany, NY; North Brunswick Township High School (leading my team to our first ever conference championship win, was a 2x all conference player, and was a 3rd team all state selection); and I also played for Princeton Volleyball Club in New Jersey.
My goal for this season is to show our guys what it’s like to compete at a high level and take them to Nationals.

I played for Longmeadow High School (Longmeadow, MA) and for the Pioneer Valley (PV) Juniors Club (Feeding Hills, MA). I had a wild start to my volleyball career. Our High School Volleyball team started my junior year and unfortunately my senior season was cancelled by COVID. However, that didn't stop me and I have played 4 years of outdoor volleyball tournaments (grass and sand). I am a Setter and Outside Hitter, and I love the amount of strategy in the sport. It is a great way to build a team and a family, and volleyball has a dynamic and open community.
This will be my first coaching experience and I'm really excited to work with the guys. I hope that this season I can help my guys find a unique way that they can contribute to their team, as everyone's skills can be combined to make the best possible (and most fun) team. I also hope to create a team spirit that is intense, but constructive and positive. I hope to learn through my guys, as well And I guess a fun volleyball fact about me is that I play outdoor doubles volleyball tournaments with my 16 year old brother and my Dad almost every weekend of the summer. I also play trumpet, piano, and sing.

As a recent graduate from Union College, I proudly contributed my skills to the club volleyball team, building on a foundation laid during my high school years at Niskayuna. My journey in volleyball began on both the boys Junior Varsity and Varsity teams, a period enriched by off-season play with Sporting Albany and recreational games in the summer.
Over my past decade of experience in the sport, I've immersed myself by embracing roles as a dedicated team player and dynamic outside hitter. What truly captivates me about volleyball extends beyond the game itself—it's the profound companionship forged within the team. The memories created with teammates linger as lasting reminders of the camaraderie that defines the sport.
While this marks my inaugural venture into coaching, I'm eager to embark on this new chapter, looking forward to understanding and connecting with the team members. This season, my goals are twofold: to foster a deeper understanding of each player's unique strengths and to refine their skills collectively. Winning games is, of course, a shared aspiration, but it's the collective journey and growth that will define our season.
